  In the second book of the Shining series,we catch up with a middle-aged Dan Torrance. He has drifted from place to place trying to deal with what happened to him at the Overlook when his dad had died. Dan has his own issues with alcohol. He finally settles down in a small town in New Hampshire and joins AA.

   He works in a nursing home and he got the name of Doctor Sleep. When a resident is close to death, he and a resident cat visits the person and eases them into their death.

    On the road there is a tribe of people driving RV's called the True Knot. They're looking for some special children with the same gift that Dan had as a child and still possess it. He is soon  teamed up with a teenager and they are doing their best to destroy the True Knot.

    Great sequel and fans of the Shining will like this new addition.
