Local Knox Author, Jerry Slauter, will talk about the setting, why he wrote this book, some of the actual history as opposed to the fiction and how the fiction was used to tell the story. The Woodcutter’s Revival encourages the reader to think about the differences of being born in one era rather than another. Were there really “good old days?” It portrays human ambition and greed, betrayal and forgiveness, and compares/contrasts political leanings and leadership styles about 100 years ago. There is even a love story found in the pages. It is a slice of life meant to entertain, but even more importantly, to be thought-provoking. Jerry will read excerpts from the book, allow time for questions and answers, and sign books. Books will be available that night for a program-only special price of $10. Please sign up by 8/29/12.
